Which of the four reported states a step belongs to. Preflight: checks before anything is copied. Setup: copying, launching, joining and the barriers until the runtime is ready (a runner's validate mode runs Preflight and the copying Setup steps, and launches nothing). Scenario: the mod's exercise and assertions, the default. Cleanup: stopping, retiring, restoring and the log scan.
